Features
The Pressocast was designed for the casting of Gold and Silver, but is also used for casting materials such as Aluminum, Brass and Copper.
The melting circuit is of a 10kW, 6kHz RF heating circuit, which allows for metal stirring and homogeneous melts. The system can be fitted with a 120 x 300 mm (4.75" x 12") Flask Size. The operation principal of the system is fairly simple: The caster would place the metal to be cast into the upper chamber. The heating cycle is performed under a protective gas, in order to avoid oxidation of the metal to be cast. While the material is being melted in the top chamber, the casting flask is removed from an oven and placed within the lower chamber then closed and sealed. The bottom chamber is equipped with a vacuum pump and once the casting process commences, the pump will engage and a stopper in the melting crucible will open.
The pressure of the inert cover gas will assist in pushing the metal into
the flask, while the vacuum pulls the metal into the flask. The combination
of pressure and vacuum leads to denser castings while avoiding porosity and
air bubbles in the material being cast.
The Pressocast is microprocessor controlled and up to 10 sets of different
casting
parameters can be saved in the system. The melting capacity of the system
is 5kg of 24k Gold and 3kg of 925 Silver.
